| 1999 | Honorary Secretary of the Staple Inn Actuarial Society for 1999/2000 session |
| 2000 | 1st February, presented Unemployment Past, Present and Future at the Staple Inn Actuarial Society. |

The Staple Inn Actuarial Society organises a programme of papers and social events aimed at the younger members of the profession. I have written a paper entitled Unemployment Past, Present and Future, with my colleagues Simon Jeffery and Graham Bolton. It was presented to the Staple Inn Actuarial Society on 1st February 2000 at Staple Inn Hall. The paper looks at the history of the creditor insurance market, the current marketing practices and the actuarial developments in this highly specialised niche market. Currently the creditor market has never been in such turmoil and the paper concludes with a look at future problems and the opportunities these present especially for the life and pensions market :
I am participating in a pilot project for the Guide Association to run Brownies, Guides and Rangers on the Internet for girls that cannot get to a regular meeting. The project is 'NetGuides' and the website is at www.netguides.org.uk
